Dear Sponsors, Delegates, and other distinguished guests,
As Secretary-General, it is my great privilege to invite you to the ninth annual William and Mary Middle School Model UN Conference (WMIDMUN IX). The conference will be held on the College of William and Mary’s beautiful and historical campus in February 2011 (the exact date has yet to be determined). Ever since the first WMIDMUN was held close to nine years ago, students attended the conference to represent countries attempting to solve national and international problems in an engaging and diplomatic manner. As the conference grew, it soon became regarded as one of the best Model UN conferences for middle school students in the area. The Secretariat of WMIDMUN IX hopes to continue this tradition of excellence!
I would like to extend a special welcome to all first-time attendees! While Model UN might seem extremely complex and intimidating with all of its rules and procedures, the staff at WMIDMUN is always available to answer any questions you might have. And to all of our returning attendees, welcome back! We hope you find this conference even more enjoyable and stimulating than the last one! The WMIDMUN website should prove helpful in the approaching months as you start to research your country and topics.
