Meet the Secretariat

Hey! My name is Matt Schofield, and I am a junior here at the College of William and Mary. As a Government major, I have participated in Model UN conferences since high school, but it was not until WMIDMUN that I realized I liked organizing a conference more than participating in one. Over the past two years with WMIDMUN I have fulfilled the roles of both USG-SA and Director General; the duty of Secretary-General is exhilerating, nerve-wracking, and stressful, but above all, it is FUN! I am counting down the days until WMIDMUN IX starts; I hope you are as ready as I am to have an unforgettable MUN experience next spring!

Erin Holmes, Director-General is a senior at the College of William and Mary majoring in History and receiving a certificate in Early American Studies, Material Culture, and Museum Studies from the National Institute for American History and Democracy (NIAHD). A seven-year veteran of Model United Nations, she has participated in more than thirty conferences, including ten for which she has been staff – chairing, directing, etc. – in addition to other roles, including running the C. D. Hylton High School Model UN Club and overseeing its conference and acting as Director-General for WMHSMUN XXII. This is her fourth year involved with WMIDMUN, having directed three committees for the conference before - the Commission on the Rights of the Child, the Privy Council of 1717, and UNSC 2012. She spent last fall studying business and marketing at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain while improving her Spanish language skills. Erin is also the co-chair for the Philanthropy Committee of Phi Mu sorority, a member of the Spotswood Society, the Student Assembly Undersecretary to Special Events in Williamsburg, and is writing her honors thesis on the evolution of the staircase in Virginia architecture between 1607 and 1830.

Laura Visochek, Undersecretary General for General Assemblies, is a senior at William and Mary majoring in International Relations. Laura is originally from New York and has been participating in Model UN since high school. She is incredibly excited about this year’s WMIDMUN and hopes you all are as well! When Laura isn’t busy with school work or the International Relations Club, she loves swimming and hanging out with friends.

Cristina Weir, Chargee d’Affaires, is a senior at the College majoring in International Relations with a minor in Eastern European Studies. She has participated in the Tribe College Outreach Program, is a student mentor to incoming freshman, and has been a member of the International Relations Club since her sophomore year. She is applying to the Peace Corps and graduate schools in the fall, looking for a job with the State Department or Department of Commerce for her future. This is her third opportunity to work on WMIDMUN, and she had a truly great time last year as Director of Outreach working with sponsors and delegates before and during the conference. She is ecstatic to be working on the WMIDMUN IX Secretariat and, as Chargee, she is excited to continue working with sponsors before the conference. She can’t wait to see everyone there!

Hi I'm Elizabeth Kelly, Director of Public Relations! I'm a junior at the College majoring in Marketing and minoring in Environmental Science and Policy. I am from Alexandria, Viriginia but have lived overseas for 14 years. Living abroad has definitely been the reason behind my interest in international affairs and Model UN. Outside of the International Relations Club I am involved in the Delta Delta Delta Fraternity and tutoring. I look forward to meeting everyone, this is going to be a great year!

Hello everyone my name is Grayson Orsini and I am your Chief of Staff for WMIDMUN! I am a Junior and have done Model UN since 9th grade. As well as learning Chinese, I am an active member of the International Relations Club as well as the Student Hip Hop Association. I currently major in International Relations and may minor in economics. When I’m not in the library studying, I enjoy Reading, Surfing, Listening to Music, and Football. I have always been interested in geography and current events and I am really looking forward to an exciting time and will work to make this WMIDMUN the best yet!

Kris Kusnerik, Director of Technology, is a sophomore at the College. He is from Mechanicsville, Virginia and will likely double major in Government and Geology. He’s been involved in Model UN since 11th grade after being convinced to join the day before a conference and hasn’t looked back since. He is well suited for his role as Director of Technology, spending far too much time on the internet and in front of his computer. As Director of Technology he hopes to ensure than anything technological works like it should and that the conference rocks!.

My name is Melanie Levine, Outreach Director and I am from Los Angeles, California. I am a Sophomore and a Government and Sociology double major. On campus, I am a member of the sorority Pi Beta Phi, the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, the Food Services Committee, Young Democrats, Model UN/International Relations Club, and Hillel. I am also a Barista at the Starbucks in Colonial Williamsburg. My passions are traveling, reading, baking, and watching Grey's Anatomy. In the future, I hope to study abroad, join the Peace Corps, and eventually attend law school. WMIDMUN is going to rock, and I am so excited to meet each and every one of you!
