Welcome to WMIDMUN!

William & Mary’s Middle School Model United Nations Conference

WMIDMUN XXIII was on February 28 - March 2, 2025. Stay tuned for news on dates for WMIDMUN XXIV!

LETTER FROM THE SECRETARY-GENERAL

Dear delegates, sponsors, and friends of wmidmun,

For the last 24 years, WMIDMUN has provided a remarkable educational experience for middle schoolers from across the country, and I am excited to invite you back to Williamsburg, VA, for the next iteration of William & Mary’s Middle School Model United Nations Conference.

Our goal has always been to create an important learning opportunity for our delegates. We encourage participating delegates to step out of their comfort zone, whether that be learning about a new topic, speaking up in committee, collaborating with other delegates, or drafting original legislation. There is a place for every delegate at WMIDMUN, and WMIDMUN has something to teach every delegate.

WMIDMUN prides itself on providing diverse committees that capture world history and current events while reflecting the myriad perspectives that constitute our global society. My sincere hope is for every delegate to leave WMIDMUN with the motivation to learn and grow into the diplomatic leaders of tomorrow.

Over the next several months, I encourage you to check our website and social media for updates and information as the conference approaches. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me or any Secretariat member. I look forward to welcoming you all to WMIDMUN XXIV at the end of February in Williamsburg for another weekend of learning, diplomacy, and fun!

Humbly Yours,

Carter Danto

Secretary-General of WMIDMUN XXIV

Service

Every year, the International Relations Club at William & Mary supports different international non-governmental organizations, advocacy groups, or philanthropy. In efforts recognized by Best Delegate’s “Best College Model UN Organizations, Leaders, Projects, and Administration 2021-22”, we focus not only on monetary contributions itself, but also on raising awareness and highlighting overlooked international social problems.

For the 2025-2026 academic year, the International Relations Club at William and Mary is proud to support Habitat for Humanity’s Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg Chapter. Habitat for Humanity’s mission is the belief that everyone deserves a safe place to live, bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. The service branch of IRC, called IRCares, will lead several initiatives throughout the conference weekend in order for you to support Habitat for Humanity as well if you feel moved to do so.

More information on the wonderful work done by Habitat for Humanity can be found here on their website, and more information or inquiries about IRC can be directed to our Service Chair, Caroline McCoy (service@wmirc.org).

Land Acknowledgment

WMIDMUN would like to emphasize the ownership of the land on which our campus operates. William & Mary acknowledges the Indigenous peoples who are the original inhabitants of the lands our campus is on today – the Cheroenhaka (Nottoway), Chickahominy, Eastern Chickahominy, Mattaponi, Monacan, Nansemond, Nottoway, Pamunkey, Patawomeck, Upper Mattaponi, and Rappahannock tribes – and pay our respect to their tribal members past and present.
