Crisis Committees

Kakariko Village Summit - Breath of the Wild

Set in the mythical world Hyrule after the events of Breath of the Wild, the continent is still recovering from a century of attacks from Ganon and his horde of monsters. The peoples of Hyrule are still separated, diplomatic ties lost after decades of being unable to contact one another. Delegates will work to not only rebuild their own lands in the Hebra Mountains and Gerudo Desert, but reforge connections across the continent and clear out common roads of remaining monsters. Koroks will be found, rupees will be spent, and dubious food concocted.

While the committee is set in the world of Breath of the Wild, delegates are welcome to pull from other Legend of Zelda Games.

Democratization of South Korea

The year is 1987 and the people of South Korea are in the midst of a massive push for democratic reform. For the past fifteen years, South Korean citizens have not been allowed to directly participate in their own elections. Protests against the military regime have been brewing for some time, but since the death of Park Jong-chul and the Gwangju Uprising, the opposition has grown. Delegates will represent both citizens of South Korea and figures in government, starting with the beginning of this turning point for the country.

Terraforming Mars

Two hundred years in the future and the world is slowly becoming a less and less habitable place. Environmental disasters are occurring at an alarming rate across the globe, irreparably changing Earth’s landscape. As more and more people flee for the habitable space stations orbiting the planet, they have become overcrowded. The stations on Mars, originally just for scientific use, have started looking like an alternative option. Delegates will work to terraform a planet and allocate resources to provide for the bases, all while managing evacuations from Earth.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms: The Guandong Coalition, February, 190 CE

The empire, long united, must divide. The reign of the young emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty has allowed corruption and treachery to grow unchecked across China. Famine and natural disaster consume the people, while the last embers of the Yellow Turban Rebellion still burn. Now, in the midst of a violent conflict between the empire’s generals and officials, the tyrannical warlord Dong Zhou has seized the capital at Luoyang, taking the child emperor Xian and his court hostage. This injustice cannot go unpunished, and so thousands across China have risen against Dong Zhou’s cruel reign of terror. Led by a band of imperial generals and bureaucrats, warriors and scholars, princes and bandits, the Guandong Coalition prepares to march on Luoyang and restore the rightful emperor to power. However, this time of chaos has allowed many in the coalition to dream of taking the throne themselves, and leading their own kingdoms and empires into a new age. China, long divided, must unite, for without unity and harmony, the empire itself may be lost.
