Secretary-General

Carter Danto

Carter Danto is a senior from Westerly, Rhode Island, studying International Relations and English. Since his freshman year, he has been an active member of the International Relations Club. He has traveled with the William & Mary Model UN team, staffed WMHSMUN and &MUN, and served on the secretariat for WMIDMUN XXI, XXII, and XXIII. He is always impressed with the growth and diplomacy shown by the delegates at WMIDMUN. He enjoys reading, writing, and playing music in his free time. He is so excited to welcome everyone to WMIDMUN XXIV!


Director-General

Brandon Buchanan

Brandon Buchanan is a senior from Fairfax, Virginia, studying Government and Economics. He has been involved with the International Relations Club since his freshman year, where he served as Undersecretary-General of General Assemblies at WMIDMUN XXII. He served as Director of Conference Development at WMIDMUN XXIII. He has also staffed WMHSMUN and &MUN. Outside of the International Relations Club, Brandon is involved with the Filipino-American Student Association, the Asian American Student Initiative, and the Radio Club. He loves to write for his blog and read philosophy, and you can often catch him doing both at a café. Brandon wants to extend a warm welcome to delegates for WMIDMUN XXIV!

Gaby Thomas

Gaby Thomas is a junior from Fairfax, Virginia, majoring in International Relations and Economics. She has been involved with the International Relations Club since her freshman year, and this is her first secretariat position. Gaby has travelled with the William & Mary Model UN team and staffed WMHSMUN, WMIDMUN, and &MUN. Other than Model UN, Gaby enjoys travelling, hiking, reading, creating little crochet animals, and spending lots of time with her dog, Gracie. Gaby is very excited to see all the creativity the delegates bring to WMIDMUN XXIV!

Olivia Brownfield

Olivia Brownfield is a junior from Chesapeake, Virginia, studying Economics and International Relations. She has been involved with the International Relations Club since her freshman year, seeking to continue her Model UN journey in college. She has travelled with the William & Mary Model UN team and directed committees at all of William & Mary’s various conferences. Outside of the International Relations Club, Olivia is also a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity and the Public Policy Club. In her spare time, she can be found at a café, reading, or wandering Colonial Williamsburg. Olivia is so excited to see what all the delegates will bring to WMIDMUN XXIV!

Leo Jones

Leo Jones is a junior from Annapolis, Maryland, studying Psychology and Religious Studies. They joined the International Relations Club in their sophomore year, and this is their first secretariat position. Other than travelling with the William & Mary Model UN team,  Leo is involved with the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity and Classics Society. They are also an Orientation Aid. They are an avid reader and a member of three different Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. Leo is very excited to see how all of their delegates tackle the crisis committees that WMIDMUN XXIV has to offer!


Director of Public Relations

Nolan Jansorn

Nolan Jansorn is a senior from Aldie, Virginia, studying Government, Data Science, and Classical Studies. He has been involved in Model UN since high school, and currently serves as the head delegate for the William & Mary Model UN team and the International Relations Club’s Vice President of Model UN, leading the college’s travel team across the country. Elsewhere on campus, he is involved with the Classics Club, the John Quincy Adams Society, and the William & Mary College Company, He also enjoys reading and hiking. He is excited to see what plans and ideas delegates will come up with at WMIDMUN XXIV!

Mary Joyce

Mary Joyce (MJ) is a junior from Middleburg, Virginia, studying International Relations and English. She joined the International Relations Club as a sophomore, where she has staffed WMIDMUN XXIII. She participated in Model UN throughout middle and high school, and is now serving her first secretariat position. Other than the International Relations Club, MJ is a member of the Delta Gamma sorority, and enjoys reading, writing, hiking, exploring picturesque small towns, and playing guitar and piano. She is very excited to return to WMIDMUN, going full circle from delegate to secretariat member!
