Secretary-General

Cassie Heyman-Schrum

Cassie is a senior from Fairfax, Virginia. She is majoring in International Relations and Psychology with a concentration in Middle Eastern and Arab studies. Joining International Relations club her freshman year, Cassie has thoroughly enjoyed traveling to conferences, staffing our own, and now being on the WMIDMUN secretariat for the third time. Outside of IRC, Cassie is the president of the William and Mary Women’s chorus, social chair of NKE, the music sorority on campus, and the Arabic house tutor. In her free time she enjoys listening to music, playing sudoku, and experimenting with new recipes. Cassie cannot wait to welcome everyone to WMIDMUN XVIII!


Director-General

Elizabeth Mitchell

Elizabeth Mitchell is a junior at the college majoring in Finance and Government. She has been involved in the International Relations Club since her freshman year. She was the Under Secretary General for Regional Assemblies and Specialized Agencies at WMIDMUN XVII. Outside of the International Relations Club, she is a member of the social sorority Kappa Delta, and She's the First, which is an organization that raises money to fund scholarships so that young girls in developing countries can go to school. In her free time, Elizabeth loves to go to the beach with friends and work out. She is extremely excited to be returning to WMIDMUN XVIII as a Secretariat member and can't wait for the conference to begin.


Registration Director

Danielle BAtterman

Danielle is a senior from Haddonfield, New Jersey studying Government and Psychology with a focus on security and strategic studies. Within IRC, she has held a variety of secretariat-level positions since her first semester at the College and has staffed all three of W&M’s MUN conferences. In her free time, you can find her working on her independent research, planning her life until 2030, or attempting to learn the banjo. As a previous WMID director and last year’s Chief of Staff, Danielle believes WMIDMUN is an incredible opportunity for delegates to debate crucial world issues while also growing as individuals. She is extremely excited to welcome delegates and sponsors alike this February!

Moira Johnson

Moira Johnson is a senior from Gainesville, VA studying Government and Physics. She joined International Relations Club in the fall of her freshman year and hasn't looked back. Outside of WMIDMUN, Moira is an active sister of the campus music sorority Nu Kappa Epsilon, serves as the Vice President of the Tea Society, and previously served as the Director of Conference Development for W&M's high school conference, WMHSMUN. In her free time, she can be found enjoying a delicious cup of coffee at Aroma's, showing people pictures of her beloved dog, and hanging out with her friends around campus. She is so excited to serve on the Secretariat and is eager to welcome the delegates to WMIDMUN XVIII.

Reeves Yanes

Reeves is a Sophomore from Norfolk, Virginia. He is majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Public Health and is a pre-med student. Reeves got started with Model UN in middle school at WMIDMUN and has continued to participate in MUN ever since. Outside of IRC he leads outdoor trips for students and volunteers at a local free clinic. In his free time Reeves loves to go on runs through the college woods and spend as much time outside as possible. Having directed at WMIDMUN last year, Reeves is excited to see the level of innovation and creativity that delegates bring to the conference.

Samantha leblanc

Samantha LeBlanc is a sophomore from Boston, Massachusetts majoring in Public Policy. Since joining the International Relations Club last year, she has had the opportunity to staff conferences on campus and travel with the team from her home city all the way to Spain. Outside of MUN, Samantha enjoys boating and studying with her friends on the Sunken Gardens. This is her first year on Secretariat and she is looking forward to a great conference!


Director of Public Relations

Nitya Labh

Nitya Labh is a sophomore at the college studying International Relations and Economics. Originally from Princeton, New Jersey, she owns her own art studio where she had the opportunity to design advertising campaigns and logos for the United Nations and various international NGOs. Within the International Relations Club at William and Mary, Nitya has enjoyed directing and traveling to conferences around the world over the past year. As the Director of Public Relations, Nitya is looking forward to sharing Model UN and capturing the experience of WMIDMUN XVIII.


Director of Conference Development

Isaac Poritzky

My name is Isaac Poritzky and I am the Director of Conference Development. I am a sophomore at the College and really looking forward to WMIDMUN XVIII! I have been involved with Model UN since my junior year of high school, but got more involved in college as I learned that I love to staff conferences. I staffed all three of William & Mary’s conferences last year and found WMIDMUN to be far and beyond my favorite. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer and tennis. I follow Liverpool religiously and watch almost of their games. I also love to cook and try new foods. I am super excited about WMIDMUN and I look forward to seeing everyone conference weekend!


Director of Technology

Kimberly Ferguson

Kimberly Ferguson is a sophomore from Manassas, Virginia and is majoring in International Relations.  As part of the International Relations Club, she has staffed the club’s prior conferences and directed at last year’s WMIDMUN.  Outside of IRC, she works as a research assistant for AidData and is involved in Catholic Campus Ministry and the Figure Skating Club.  In her free time, Kimberly can be found catching up on some reading, baking for her friends, and taking walks around Colonial Williamsburg.  She is so excited to be on the WMIDMUN XVIII Secretariat and can’t wait for a great conference!
