Despite decades of stagnation and decline, the Ming Dynasty has managed to maintain control of its empire and the mandate of heaven, but that might all be changing. Setting off in 1618, the court of the Ming Dynasty is in crisis. Corruption, war, famine, riot, and invasions plague the Ming rulers. The court must act swiftly to address the corruption within its ranks, generate revenue to pay off their debts, quell famines and peasant revolts, all while fending off impending incursions by the Manchu to the north.
